1. Step onto a River Cruise
The Connecticut River is the longest in New England. As well as flowing through Connecticut, it also takes you through other New England states such as New Hampshire and Vermont, giving you a backdrop of stunning geographical sites. The best way to experience it is by hopping onto a river cruise tour. The Lady Kate is a standout, as it provides an incredible service while taking you down the stunning river. You can even book it for specific events like a wedding or a birthday – or simply take the public cruise.
2. Head to the Thimble Islands
As Connecticut is on the coast, you get access to amazing coastal scenery. That includes the archipelago of the Thimble Islands. There’s so much you can experience here – you can rent a kayak to reach the shore, explore a wildlife refuge, or picnic on the cobbled beach. Don’t forget to head to the Stony Creek Museum!
